The Weather Outside Is Frightful…

But it’s cozy inside the preschool class.  The children have been cuddling up with our big stuffed bear and a good book in our Reading Corner.  They have also been enjoying scooping cranberries in the sensory table and hanging mittens over the big carpet.  During Science we have been discovering our senses and the stars. How Special Are We To Have So Many Specials

October has really been a special month.  We had Kasey the Firedog, Science, Art and Music visit our Preschool Room, as well as a wonderful field trip to Hidden Valley Farm! The class had a “dog gone” good time learning fire safety with Kasey the Firedog.  Kasey and Firefighter Karen taught the children to stop, [...]

A Bubble Blast!!!!

Our Creative Tots had a blast with our science teacher, Miss Jessica, exploring the fun you can have with bubbles!

Warm Fuzzies From The Creative Tots’ Open House

Our Creative Tots radiated happiness as they played with the fluffy animals during Family Night.

We’re all a flutter….

The children have been waiting patiently (as patiently as 4 and 5 year olds can wait ) for the butterflies to emerge from their chrysalis!!  The wait is over!!  The butterflies have slowly come out with all six fluttering around their temporary home, eating sugar water or fresh fruit (like oranges and watermelon, yum).  We [...]

Little gardeners have fun planting seeds

Our little gardeners have fun as they take part in our planting center. We have also discussed the different parts of the plant, watched beans sprout roots and planted our own sunflower seeds.  We are excited to observe their growth. Newsflash! Our caterpillars are now in their pupa stage. We can’t wait to see the [...]

It’s nesting time in preschool

The Boonshoft Museum flew into preschool for a lesson about our feathered friends.  The children flocked together to learn about birds and their habitats as they participated in hands-on activities. Enjoy the view from your nest at home.

Junior paleontologists dig deep…

This month in science your little paleontologists learned about life from the distant past with Miss Jessica.  Children can learn about this time by studying fossils like those we can find in our own backyards!  Ohio is very special because of the many fossils that can be found here.  As always, we began our exploration [...]

Overflowing with fun

The classic science experiment with a little vinegar and a lot of baking soda never grows old!  Miss Nancy helped our preschoolers see science come to life with exploding volcanoes.  You can see for yourself just how attentive these little learners were.  Let the “lava,” lessons and fun overflow!

Our preschoolers are DINO-MITE!

From paper mache eggs to digging for bones, our junior paleontologists  jumped in a time machine back to the age of dinosaurs.  They unearthed a lot of fun and discovered a world of science from years ago!
