Pre-K is Falling for Fall

Leaves are falling, leaves are falling…on the ground…on the ground! Look at all the colors…look at all the colors, falling down…falling down! Red, orange, yellow and brown…and brown!

A lot of math and science was used this week with leaves. We also learned some new vocabulary words–chlorophyl and pigment. Check out our pictures to see what we’ve been up to in the Pre-K room!

Ll is for Leaves and Ladybugs

This week the preschoolers have been exploring leaves by sorting, graphing colors, making rubbings and using them in art activities. The class has also been using their observation skills by watching our ladybug larvae. In the next weeks we hope to see the larvae go through the pupa stage and become adult ladybugs. The children continued using their powers of observation during a visit from the Cincinnati Zoo. The preschoolers enjoyed learning about hedgehogs and spotted turtles. Art Enrichment – Fall Frenzy

Creative Art Tots went on a scientific Fall adventure, as we explored the beauty of nature.  Our artists documented their wonderful findings in their Field Journals.  Artists studied their Field Journal to find the shape and color of Fall leaves.  Artists used their observation skills to detect the array of warm colors in the leaves.  We then discussed the contrast of using a cool background color to make our leaves POP!
