Dr. Seuss on the Loose!

We had so much celebrating Dr. Seuss with our themed days! We did lots of rhyming with both real words and silly made up words!

Did we have fun? Well, what did we do? We rhymed, did crafts and science experiments too!! We dressed up and dressed down…we wore our upside down frowns!

Our Pre-K room is so much fun and fun is good!!!

Hip Hip Hooray for Presidents’ Day!

We recently spent a week discussing presidents. There were many discussions about George Washington and Abraham Lincoln. We also spent time learning about coins…pondering how much each coin is worth, who the president’s are on each coin, the sizes of the coins, etc.
There was much fun to be had with fine motor activities such as, tooth pick punching, building fun-dough flags, letters with do-a-dots and coin rubbings. We journaled about being president and also practiced our writing skills by using our sight words and sounding out new words. We are proud to be in Pre-K!

We’re Batty About Pre-K

We spent a week discovering bats and spiders. We also compared and contrasted these two creatures. We learned that bats are mammals just like humans and whales except they can fly. They can find their way around through echolocation. We discovered that spiders are arachnids and have eight legs and some can have up to eight eyes.

We enjoyed spider and bat crafts, graphing spiders and bats, we created a venn diagram comparing and contrasting, we sorted, patterned, practiced the letter ‘s’ and ‘b’, and the number ‘8’. Of course, we did much more so check out our pictures!

Chicka Chicka Boom Boom…See What’s Happening in the Pre-K Room

We’ve been practicing writing uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers and our names. We’ve been sorting, patterning, matching and learning about position words. We have also read some fabulous stories! We have been reflecting on the details of these stories as well as learning new vocabulary words and story sequencing. Of course crafting with paint, markers, scissors, glue and other fun materials is always an enriching part of our day! Keep checking in to see what our Pre-K room is up to! 😊
